Please convey to our Black Olympics Game
Heroes my heartiest congratulations and my
deepest thanks. We out this way salute them
for the honor, credit and dignity they have
brought to the dark peoples of the world.
They proved their worth as fine athletes - then
they proved their worth as men and women of
courage, determination and high v ision. Their
Black Power demonstration soared to the
skies far above all the Olympic banners, and
flags - it was heard around the world far be-
yond the loudest trumpets.
I greet these young Blacks with joy for my-
self and for my husband. I can hear His voice
hailing them and saying proudly: “Souls of
Black Folk, march on, march on towards the
Dawn of Our New World!”
We must unite all our efforts against any
refusal our enemies may undertake. United
we are strong! United we are the world’s ma-
jority.
1 am going to take this matter up with the
Afro-Asian Peoples Solidarity Organization
for some kind of endorsement.

ABOUT ELDRIDGE. . .
Eldridge Cleaver, the single most powerful,
compelling, and cogent leader for black free-
dom in the country, is being sought by the com-
bined forces of the city, state, and federal pig
agencies. He faces trial in Coakley's kangaroo
courthouse in Oakland December 2 on charges
of attempted murder of the Oakland Pigs, and
if convicted would face life im ment,
However, if the present escalation of son
the Black Panther Party by bigger and fatter
layers of pigs increases, Brother Eldridge
might not live to go to trial. The writ of habeas
corpus which released him from prison grant-
ed by Superior Court Judge Raymond Sher-
win in Solano County was denied by the Dis-
trict Court of Appeals in San Francisco. The
three-pig panel of state judges handed down
their verdict to return Eldridge Cleaver to
prison in sixty days on September 27 — the
very same day Huey P. Newton was sent to
prison by Oakland's hatchet pig, Judge Mon-
roe Friedman.
For the past two years that he had been
living in San Francisco on parole, the local
agents of the California Adult Authority, par-
ole pigs, have been responsible for corralling
our keader and denying him his constitutional
and human rights as a matter of course. Ap-
parently, the conniving federal, state and city
pigs have felt that the chains of parole are too
weak for this ex-convict black man and have
linked up additional pig agencies to hold him
down.
As long as Eldridge Cleaver remains free to
lead our revolutionary struggle for human
freedom and black liberation, he will continue
to stand as a« shield between the black com-
munity and the racist pig power structure ay
they direct the full blast of racist repression
against him. If these foul swine had succeeded
in eliminating Brother Eldridge, our most
powerful leader, it would have left the rest of
our leadership exposed to the full weight of
their onslaught.

Eldridge Cleaver anade the decision to politically exile himself
November 27th, on the basis that the Adult Authority made an outhew deci
stom, and that he hae heen denied hix constitutional right to due protest of
law.
The revocation of Cleaver’s parole wee illegal. because no parole
violation was committed.
The Adult Authority parole board has tied to maintain that Cleaver
violated his parole by having a rifle in his possession, and by associating
with individuals of bad reputation. This contention, we will show, is false.
"The Adult Authority version contradicts the Seperior Court order itself
=... Cleaver’s only handling of a firearm (the rifle) was in obedience
to a police command. He did pot handle a hand gun at all. There was noth-
ing one way or the other to show a conspiracy or @ situation calling for the
application of the doctrine of aiding and abetting. Hence, nothing support-
ed either the possession of a firearm or the assanlt charge,
As to the charge of association with individuals of bad reputation, the
report indicated that two or three of those named had “police records,” but
nothing to show whether any had been convicted of anything, or whether

vagueness is in direct violation of federal law which requires agencies to

“Petitioner (Cleaver) is immediately and seriously prejediced by the
Adult Authority's enlawful refusal to publish its regulat since he is to
be imprisoned by virtee of an action which the Adult Authority still seeks
to garb in this ‘veil of secteey.” (Petition for Hearing in the Supreme Court

Yes, the Adult Authority acted unyustly anc illegally. Its decussom was
an outlaw decision. Cleaver had no chance of obtaining “justice” fron
these Star Chamber proceedings. Why then Idn't the U.S. Supreme
Court hear Cleaver’s case? There ure, we be © reasons why the
cave wasn't accepted, The first is that any fair minded court would tous-
ly have rele: Cleaver, thereby setting « precedent, The second is that
thousands of cases of alleged parole violation from all over California and

copts of freedom and justice we must support him, work to get him
discharged from parole must continue. An intense publicity campaign is
necessary now to bring to the pablic the legal defense and angumests
which were carried to the courts with no satisfaction. We must all work

to determine our destiny.
2. We want full employment for our people.

full employment, then the means of production should be taken
from the businessmen and placed in the community so that the
people of the community can organize and employ all of its
people and give a high standard of living.

we are demanding the overdue debt of forty acres and two mules.

Israel for the genocide of the Jewish people. The Germans mur-

We believe that if the white landlords will not give decent

workd who, like black people, are being victimized by the white

defending our black community from racist police oppression
and brutality. The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the

torical and racial background. To do this the court will be forced
to select a jury from the black community from which the black
defendant came. We have been, and are being tried by all-white
juries that have no understanding of the ‘average reasoning man’’
of the black community.
